Data Import Resources: Merge Profiles

WITHIN THIS SECTION YOU WILL FIND THE STEPS FOR MERGING PROFILES AFTER USING THE "DIRECT IMPORT TOOL".

What is Merging? 

 After using the "Direct Import" Tool the "Merge Tool" will appear if you have uploaded members that possibly match profiles that are already within your account.  


What fields are available to see within the "Merge Tool"?

  • First Name
  • Last NAme
  • People Type (Student, Parent, Staff)
  • Student ID
  • Date of Birth
  • Email
  • Address
  • City
  • State/Province
  • Postal code
  • Home telephone
  • Moblie telephone
  • Work telephone

Overview: 

1. Once you have completed the "Direct Import" if there are possible duplicate profiles within your account you will not only recieve the message that your import have been successfully uploaded, but you will also receive a message listing all possible duplicate profiles. 

Click on "Resolve" next to the profiles you wish to view.

3. A screen will open with both of the profiles to be looked at.


 Compare both profiles and once you have choosen which profiles it is you wish to keep click on "Retain this profile ONLY" from under that profile listing*


The profile that is not selected will be deleted.  Any attached data to the deleted profile such as Financials, Assignments, Program Participation records, etc. will be merged onto the saved profile.  Any other updates can be made at a future time by going to People > Members > Members profile

5. If the the profiles are not from the same member and do not need to be merged just click the X on the top of the screen and continue on with the process, finishing the rest of the profiles.
