Update Existing barcodes

Cut Time automatically generates a permanent System barcode for each item in your inventory. This field cannot be edited. You can also link an Existing barcode to an item – Cut Time will recognize either barcode to identify a unique item. The Existing barcode field is editable and may be added or updated at any time.

1. Go to the Inventory menu and select Attire or Instruments/Other.
2. Click the Update button next to the item you want to edit.
   



3. Scroll down to the Existing barcode field. The field will be gray.
   



4. Click on the lock icon next to the field to unlock it.
5. The field background color will change to white.
   



6. Make sure your cursor is in the Existing barcode field before you rescan or manually update barcode information in this field.
7. Click Save.
